The Phantom Dwellings Ethnographic Project

The Phantom Dwellings Project is a series of five interconnected research projects that map the personal imaginary of the late-life relationship between Judith Wright and Nugget Coombs as it intersected with recognisable political geographies across Australia from the mid-1960s to the mid-1990s.

This period saw the growth of corporate mining in Australia, historic and progressive pushes for Indigenous autonomy, and new conservationist movements.

These five research projects therefore gather and present diverse accounts and experiences around core themes in modern Australian that will be presented as a curriculum module for Primary and Secondary Education in Australia.
